Health Fair and Mammogram Screening Event this Weekend

June 7, 2017

PANIRA Clinic is hosting a “Health Fair” this Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 9:00 AM through 1:00 PM in “The Village Falls” Plaza. The theme of the Health Fair is: “Keep Our Community Healthy and Informed.”  We cordially invite you to be part of this health fair to inform the community of the services that you have available and beneficial for their well-being.

PANIRA Clinic will provide free screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, vision and more. Radiology Regional Center Mobile Mammogram will be present. This health fair will be educative, fun and enjoyable to everyone.

The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends annual mammograms for women beginning at age 40. Mammograms are used as a screening tool to detect early breast cancer in women who may not be experiencing any symptoms. Mammograms can also be used to detect and diagnose breast disease in women experiencing symptoms such as a lump, pain and skin dimpling.

Mammograms play a central role in early detection of breast cancers because the results can show changes in the breast up to two years before a patient can feel anything. Research indicates that annual mammograms lead to early detection of breast cancers, which is when they are the most curable and when breast-conservation therapies are most available.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has stated that women who have had breast cancer, and those who are at increased-risk due to any family history of breast or ovarian cancer, should see the advice of a physician about whether they should begin mammogram screenings prior to the age of 40, as well as any additional types of screenings.

Radiology Regional Center Mobile Mammo will be offering mammogram screenings at Panira Health Care Clinic, located at 5039 E. Tamiami Trail in Naples, on this Saturday June 10 from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.

You can make an appointment ahead of time (recommended) by calling (239)936-4068.

Please bring your Photo ID and Insurance Card to the mammogram and be prepared to provide the date and location of your last mammogram. An order/prescription is not required for a screening mammogram, but you must have a physician in order to receive your results.
