Want to contribute to a great cause and help America fight against heart disease and stroke?
If so, there is a very special event this weekend: the 2016 Collier Heart walk hosted by the American Heart Association. The walk will take place on Saturday, November 5 over a 5K course and is a fantastic opportunity for you to help by participating, donating, fundraising, and sponsoring. All proceeds go toward the goal of helping eliminate the nation’s number one and number five causes of death: heart disease and stroke that affect countless Americans each year.
The Heart Walk was created to help foster more physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun environment that gets people moving. Exercise is one of the best ways to reduce one’s risk for heart disease and stroke, so getting families out to walk a 5K is a step in the right direction.
The current goal is $567,000, and as of Thursday, November 3, the organization has raised $548,830. They’re almost there, and one last push could put them over the top. So, if you want to help, or know someone who would, you can visit their website to donate even if you don’t plan on participating in the walk.
We’re all about healthy living, and we support the 2016 Collier Heart Walk and encourage everyone to stop by, participate, donate, volunteer, or simply tell their friends and family about the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
